Research by sales training experts Huthwaite has found that 87% of learning from a simple classroom workshop was lost within 30 days, however, if the learning was supported by retrieval practice and assessments learners showed more than 100% improvement in performance.

Learning Time Reduced Through eLearning

Learning time can be reduced by 40-60% on average when using eLearning compared with the traditional classroom technique, according to a new study from Brandon Hall Research.
Additionally, retention of the information learnt is higher as found in an independent study by J.D. Fletcher in his Multimedia Review, which showed retention averages increased by 25% over traditional methods when eLearning was used.
This fits in with research carried out on methods of training by U.S Department of Education who found on average, students in online learning conditions performed better than those receiving face-to-face instruction.
