eLearning which comes naturally in response to the growing trend of computer and internet usage in the UAE give organizations the perfect flexibility and standardization of learning resources while keep in light on the Training Budget.
Dr. Santhosh from Petrofac is of the opinion that a well thought change management process is vital for setting an e-learning culture within any organisation. He went on to say that “e-Learning can be used as an effective intervention tool to augment the process of learning and development for an organisation. Apart from satisfying the competency requirement of an employee with stand alone courses, the strategy can be more oriented towards blending e-Learning with traditional classroom training.”
Whereas Firas Mahmoud from ADCO thinks that, the IT Infrastructure in the organization is an integral part for e-Learning implementation. He feels that, the encouraging and problem-free user-experience for the learner is the main success factor for the initiative to thrive in the organization.
He says: ”We don’t want the Learner to be discouraged by a slow connection, or a missing Java plug-in, risking they will never come back to take e-Learning”.
To accomplish this, the e-learning project team should inspect whether the current IT infrastructure can support the e-Learning strategic plan or not. The speaker demonstrated the different Infrastructure components for IT and e-Learning, and how they related to e-Learning implementation, he concentrated on the Learning Management system (LMS) solutions and options.
